As a recognized portrait/documentary photographer and experienced teacher Shelby Lee Adams has published three books to date, his most recent “Appalachian Lives”, was published in 2003. His photographs have been exhibited and collected, both nationally and internationally. He has done assignment work for clients including Fortune, Amnesty International, GQ, Mother Jones, Fast Company, New York Times, and New York Magazine among others.
