WoW!! Is all I have to say! I woke up today to find a site that I have my photography on, had placed me as one of the photos of the day! I have received over 600 page views from it, along with over 60 comments and over 50 favorites! This makes me so happy!
I would love to show you, but... the picture is the one I submited for the PWL challenge! And to top it all off... I am doing so much better than I ever expected here for the challenge! I am already at a 6.932 and 18 comments!
YIPEE!!!! I guess I am out of my slump! :)

You put a photo that is in the voting stage of a challenge up on another site? Hhmmmmm.... Not saying that it was your intention but that is a method that could be used to artificially inflate your score in the challenge. Many here frown upon that sort of thing. |

I actually think it's more likely to harm a score if the photo is seen on another site, because the 'wow factor' is already gone.

How could that artificially inflate a person's score?
Pardon me if it's obvious, the percodan has turned me stupid. |

Congrats! You'll have to share the website after the PWL challenge. I check about half a dozen POTD websites each morning. I like to submit photos to the ones that have a lot of traffic. I usually wait until after a challenge, because the comments here help me edit the photo so it might do better on the POTD sites. |

It undermines the anonymity of the challenge. I'll leave it at that. |

Lorrie;
Congrats by your performance. I feel that as DPCer you had improved your skills, like many others. I noticed in your profile that you have a future in this lind of art. Continue to do your best.
Only a little advise, don´t make your work a commodity. Put the same thing in multiple places are an easy way to promote your art. But when someone saw your name in such a place newly can think: Oh, this girl newly with the same photos! I know that is so hard to be very original in the modern world. But it had worth.
Good look in the actual challenge. |

Thank you everyone, I never even thought about the fact that it could affect my scores here. I didn't even do it for that reason. I was so proud of myself, that I posted it on the other site! I hope this will not get me in hot water, but being proud of myself is not something I can say happens often.
Also, as coolhar had said about the anonymity of the picture... there are others that have children or pets that are in alot of challenge photos, or even themselves... I feel they are more at risk than I am posting on another site.
I apologize if I have ruined a "suprise" for anyone... it was not my intentions. |

You are right about the pets/children photos. I try hard not to remember which goes with what, but it keeps coming back. One way to deal with it is to vote them down when it becomes obvious.
I'm really looking forward to seeing your shot. Seems like you've got a good one.

Hmmm.. never thought about it that way. I am a member of a few communities, and several of my friends are in them too.... but I never let the fact that I know someone sway my decision. How will anyone learn from false or "friend" votes? I guess the most important thing to me is how good is the photo and how well does it fit the challenge.
