Just wanted to know if anyone out there has knowledge on copyright and the internet. Let me explain what I am wanting to do. I want to pull reptile related news articles with images from websites all over the world and place them in my reptile website. I would also put a link and source back to the sources website. If this isn't legal is it possible for me to just have like the first couple of lines of the article with the photo then a link that says read more... that directs the reader to the full story on the actual sources website. any other suggestions?

(Might want to invest in spell check. Many browsers and toolbars have it these days. ;)
Copyright prevents you from outright plagiarizing entire passages of another site and posting them on yours. Quoting a small blurb and linking to the site is generally safe, although you may find folks who'll argue with that even. |

| Can you just contact the websites and ask them if you can use them? |
