I haven't used this lens much since I got the Canon 17-40L F4. I'll be putting it on ebay and I wonder what they sell for these days.
I want to sell it so I can get a second 550EX flash. I started a Photo a Day and I know I'll be doing a lot of Still Life and Macro shots. I gave my 420EX to  Sherand I love working with two flash units, so Imma get another 550ex. Anyone know what a used 550EX goes for these days too?

I bought one recently used on another board for $210usd, most go from there on up to about $250.

| The 28-135mm IS Canon goes for between USD300-350. I sold mine for $350 with filters. I suggest you sell via Craigs List to avoid eBay fees and mailing charges. |

The 28-135 is going down in price, used wise.
The 40D is out - body only $1299 or with the 28-135 for $1499 - and the kit is easy to find the body only is not.
So many people are buying the kit and selling the lens - even $210 is a 'profit' over the body alone.
I got the kit and am keeping the lens, but selling my Tamron 24-135 - as long as I get more than $200 i'll be happy.
I suspect canon has a LOT of these laying around and are clearing the shelves for a new lens (18-200 IS anyone?) The 40D manual lists 2 kits - 18-55 and 17-85 IS, not the 28-135. Interesting. |

I just listed my 28-135 with UV and polarizer on ebay today. I can let you know what I get for them, but you'd have to wait a week.
I thought about putting it on Craigslist to avoid fees, but it's worth it to me to avoid dealing with the phone calls and showing the lens to people. I'll get a bit less on ebay after fees, but the convenience is worth it to me.

Yeah Jacko, I bought my 580EX new, the 550EX I bought used and it came with a lumquest omni-bounce.
