I've been a member here for almost a year now, and it's time to do a little status...
I've enterd 77 challenges (2 in voting now) - lowest score is 4.9541 and highest is 6.8626 (my first entry). Average score received is 5.8151 and an 8th place is the best I've got.
These statistics are probably not very different from a lot of other members I guess.
But, what I've learned is that I get the best scores when I don't shoot with a particular challenge in mind. When I look at my 10 highest scoreing pictures, only 2 of them where shot with the challenge in mind. The rest of them were pictures I would have shot anyway and I entered them because I felt they could fit in the challenge. On the other hand, when I look at my 10 lowest scoring pictures, 9 of them were shot with the challenge in mind.
So, what can I learn form this?
Not much I guess - except that I do my best work when I'm not constrained by a subject.
Maybe I should just refrain from looking at the subjects during the week and take the pictures I want - and then find out on the last day if any of the pictures I have will fit somewhere?
Anyway, I really enjoy this site and I'll keep on trying one way or another :)

Well you did better than me.
I just bought another year last month and I̢۪m sitting at 56 challenges entered. My highest was 6.5076 and my lowest was 3.7463. The highest place was 6th.
I too have noticed that I shoot better with nothing in mind but when I get home from filling the card I usually find that I have something I can work with.
I have also learned a lot on this site and I will continue to learn more.
Thanks  silverscreen for letting us know how you are doing and now I know who I can compete against from here on out. haha

| Congrat´s, 77 challenges in one year is a lot, I have ony done 140 something and I have almost been here for 3 years :) Very productive! |

No I didn't - the cheapskates who drive this site only give out lousy Timex watches these days :) |

It looks a very small number for an entire year work compared with other members, but I never though I could produce so many photos in just one year. I hope to reach the same number for the next year.

Keep trying Jorge! Your 35 entries inlcudes just 12 ribbons and 17 top 5 finishes. You'll get the hang of this photography thing one day. ;-)

Challenges Entered: 90 +3 in voting
Avg Vote Received: 5.3226
Registered: Dec. 8th 2006
Best place: 2th (Vanish, wonderful challenge that was), although I prefer my 5th place in the Pi II challenge.
