Just to make it clear for folks, can we add a flag that shooting your own ribbon shot is DQ'able? Don't want to have the 2-second exposure fiasco all over again... :)

Yes!

Since some challenges allowed text, expert editing, and/or 720 pixel (200K) maximums ... can we relax those constraints?

There have been 775 challenges to date. 775 x 3 = 2,325 potential models for the challenge.

I think we should dub it, "The Attack of the Clones."

This is going to be FUN!

so make it as close to the same as you can or try to make it a bit your own as well? as atribute to?

for the attribution I think that the challenge title is good. for the subjects probably still life will be the preferred (for the setup). probably will be more difficult portraits and landscapes

the challenge description says:
"...try to emulate it as closely as possible!"

i think it would be handy to use the original photogs name in the title like:

DrAchoo's "I'm in LOVE!"

so when we vote we could refer more easily to the original.

.....probably the "how possible" will be one of the evaluation criteria?

Yeah kind of agree with this, it would just make sense like that 2 second thingy a while back like Jason says.

I doubt I´ll have time to enter this challenge but it´s the most interesting challenge I have seen here in a while and I´ll try to give it a go, think I know exactly what shot to "copy" :)

You´d like that wouldn´t you but unfortunately my tripod is too big for a SP nude so I´ll have to think of something else to do :P

this should be fun. I can't really think of one yet.

I'm disappointed that it HAS to be a copy - I wish it could be a parody, as well :-(

How much leway does this have? For example if the shot I am recreating has a red rose and I use a yellow rose is this still deja vu? What about if I do the same image but in B&W vs Color?

I think that probably one of the parameters for voting will be how the shots are similar. hence if the rose is red is better :)

Parody is a form of copying. If it's intriguing enough, I'd bet it'd do well.

I'm IN as the #2 entry!!! I spent half the day on this photo and I can't even believe i'm trying to imitate this professional. I did pretty well in my last Deja Vu entry...hopefully he will comment on it.

Sorry, I thought there were quite a few with that many.

Hmmm ... try not to post specifics which might identify you entry ... ;-)

So is there a way to search the photo db and see only ribbon winners ?

You can obviously narrow it down to only challenge entries, but I'm not sure how you would next filter it.

I guess you could go onto challenge archives and go through a page at a time . . but I think being able to filter on say ribbons and or hm's would be quite cool.

another example of a parody where both people did got a blue ribbon.

and

It would be cool, but there isn't such a filter at this time. However, if you go to the "highest rated page/s" you'll get a ton of ribbon winners (this page)
