I would like to get a 1.4x multiplier converter for my Nikon 80-200 mm (no AF-S).
Any suggestion? Thanks |

I did a lot of digging when I bought mine. From what I came up with, the Kenko pro was about the same quality as the expensive Canon ones, and did not report the aperture to the camera so you could use it with any lens (but AF gets sketchy). SO I got the Kenko Pro. The cheap Tamron and Sigma versions perform really well to from what I heard.
Hope this helps. |

I use an older Sigma 2X at times with my manual focus Nikkor Ai lenses, and with the "D" series AF lenses using all manual mode.
The "G" lenses have no aperture ring, so depend on the electronic connection to the camera to set the aperture when the shutter is tripped. The "G" type will not work with the older pre electronic Ai nikkon type teleconverters.
The reason auto focus has trouble with the electronic AF ones is that the light is reduced quite a lot when they are used, making the effective aperture smaller.
Check eBay and Amazon for them.
