Between these two lenses? All the specs look the same, they're both USA models, but one costs $40 more. I can't figure it out, anyone help me out?

Canon 75-300
Canon 75-300

And I've heard good things about the Sigma 70-300 APO DG over the last few days. Would you go for the Sigma over one of these Canons?

I have the sigma and have no complaints about it.

It's just the warranty included that makes the difference.

Click the link 'imported' (on the first one) or USA on the second. The definition is there.

The more expensive lens has USM (Ultra Sonic Motor) for auto-focus. Basically, USM lenses focus quieter and faster. I don't believe it affects accuracy, just speed and noise level.

Looks like One is an import version. Personally I would be leary about image quality for a zoom that long thats less than $200

I got a non-USM version of this lens included with the purchase of the regular kit. It's alright for a starter lens, but IQ really isn't that good on a consistent level. Every once in a while, a reasonably sharp capture will happen, but it almost seems more of a fluke than anything else.

Argh, I can't believe I overlooked something that obvious. I guess I forgot how to read the fine print. It's been a long day, than you all for setting me straight :-)
