what exactly is it (I mean besides the obvious)?
Sometimes I come across a linkedln page looking for someone and have just never really investigated it further |

It's mostly a business networking site. Post your career and education, connect with people, get recommendations from people you worked with, etc. I've connected with some people very recently that I used to work with many years ago. I don't have much experience with it, but it seems very business or career oriented and in that it looks like it can be very useful and effective. |
