| I saw him in person during a taping of the Late Show With David Letterman a few years back. He sang with Michael Bolton, of all things. He did have quite a presence about him. |

You'll be seeing links and obituaries and on and on for a while - here's an example - I think his attitude to both his work and life in general were what made him extra special...

| BBC2 has a programme dedicated to him on now. As a heavy rock fan, I can still appreciate a great voice and a superb talent. He will be missed by many. |

Damn, he was my favorite singer, and I'm deaf. I guess I liked him for his attitude, and for the fact that when I was much larger people said I looked like him... RIP
