Are there any teleconverters for Sigma 70-300 APO DG? I would like to know if I can increase the zoom factor by 1.4 or 2.0 and I believe I saw some guys out there who has done it earlier. On the contrary Sigma says their 2.0 teleconverter can not be used by this lens. Anyone who can help with this?

I believe it's physically possible, but you probably won't like it. You may also lose AF.

According to the Sigma page. No.

sigma

Even if there was one, it would make your min aperture at least f8, so you would lose autofocus, and it would be really dark and hard to focus, not to mention your shutter speeds would be so slow it would be impractical. :(

My friend has this lens and has pretty much left a 1.4x tc on it since he bought it. AF still works. I will verify he is using this same lens.

I have the Sigma 1.4x and am looking to sell it, if you get to the point of buying one. Pefect condition, all original packaging, etc.

edit: I was wrong, he has 100-400 F4 APO.

Not recommended...You'll hate the results. Teleconverters work best on Fast Primes or fast top quality Zooms. Put them on so so average zooms and the so so gets magnified to awful...

It works, but autofocus doesn't work well unless it's really bright out.
