If that were a challenge, I'd just start a rant about how much I hate shots of martini glasses under studio lights- then go and submit a shot of martini glasses under studio lights.

Or if I went to the zoo that day, I'd start a rant about how there are too many endagered white tigers or something of the sort- than I can submit without fear of DNMC.

A special rule about the rant thread having been started before the challenge was announced would stop that kind of activity.

Forum Rule #14 (emphasis added):

Above all, play nice. Be aware that the above rules are not all-inclusive. If you stir up trouble to prove a point, or engage in a pattern of disruptive behavior, we will address your actions, even if those actions do not violate any specific rule listed here.
====================
"Cluttering up" the front page by bumping old threads for no reason other than to bring them to the front page -- without adding any substantive content -- would seem to violate this rule.

I strongly encourage any of you who may be doing this to stop now ...

Huh? I don't get why you posted this. Is someone taking my joke seriously? Kinda seems off topic of this thread...

No, he just knows that some people would actually do it. :-)

Actually a couple of threads from 2002 were resurrected with no significant input. Actually what I read it would have been hard to add to them.

I've seen (today) at least two threads from 2002 which were bumped, and at least one of those for no apparent reason. I saw the idea of bumping old threads (to generate "topics" for this challenge, I guess) so I thought I'd offer some pre-emptive advice against such a technique -- I'd rather not deal with such a situation after it gets started.
