Knowing (2009) Nicolas Cage

In the fall of 1959, for a time capsule, students draw pictures of life as they imagine it will be in 50 years. Lucinda, an odd child who hears voices, swiftly writes a long string of numbers. In 2009, the capsule is opened; student Caleb Koestler gets Lucinda's "drawing" and his father John, an astrophysicist and grieving widower, takes a look. He discovers dates of disasters over the past 50 years with the number who died. Three dates remain, all coming soon. He investigates, learns of Lucinda, and looks for her family. He fears for his son, who's started to hear voices and who is visited by a silent stranger who shows him a vision of fire and destruction. What's going on?

6.5/10 - Entertaining but maybe just a little too long (121 mins). Special effects were good.

Kick-Ass 9/10
Second best superhero movie based on a graphic novel or comic, of all time, IMHO.

By far the worse movie evah. Nothing made sense. It was probably because it was in Japanese and I had the caption off but hey that's not my fault.

Worst movies ever don't win Oscars. Go back and watch it with subtitles, or at least the English dubbed version.

It was a joke that went over as well as the movie Ishtar.

2012 - 5/10
It's entertaining if you suspend your disbelief - I mean lock it in the garage - for 2 hours and 38 minutes of this movie.

Outlander (2008)

James Caviezel
Sophia Myles
John Hurt

In 709 DC, in the Iron Age, a spacecraft crashes in the Viking kingdom of Herot, Norway, and the pilot Kainan survives. He turns the beacon on; learns the language and culture of the planet using a machine; and finds that the predator, Moorwen, that he was transporting, had escaped. While chasing the alien monster, he finds a village completely destroyed and is arrested by the warrior Wulfric, believing that he killed the locals - Kainan is brought to Herot as a prisoner..

3/10 - Utter nonsense only helped by the fact that I could fast forward at x6, x12 and x30 speed!

Date Night

Steve Carrel
Tina Fey

8/10 Didn't really know what to expect since I hadn't seen any trailers, so I was pleasantly surprised. It was damn funny.

You may have to be married with kids to really appreciate it though.

The Road - ? out of 10

Do not watch this film if you have a chemical imbalance, food imbalance, guns or knives around the house.

It was one of the most depressing movies I have ever watched in my life.

It starts out depressing, the middle is more depressing and the end is depressing. I am sure the kid in the movie is going to need real life therapy after acting in this movie

Shrek - Forever After 7/10

Allow your kids/grandkids to drag you. More drama oriented than previous, but still loaded with great imaging and lots of good gags that only the adults will get.

It's Complicated - totally agree - a 7/10 from me as well. Nice to see a movie about adults (and acted by pros).

The Wolfman - 6/10 - okay horror film, better than all the negative reviews led me to believe. Nice variation on the story, artsy filming, good score, kind of gory (and that was the theatrical version, I wonder how much gorier the unrated version is).

From Paris with Love - 5/10
Exactly what I expected- shoot everything in sight while making humorous remarks. I didn't care much for the Jonathan Rhys Meyers character and try as they did, there never was any chemistry between the two main characters. 5/10 just for shooting and blowing up lots of stuff.
