Heist (2001) - 6/10

While I enjoyed this movie, it had almost too many twists.

the other day I saw "fantastic Mr.Fox" it was absolutely fantastic, its a stop motion animation movie based on a Fox and his family and 3 farmers. Directed by Wes Anderson, Wes has a very distinct filming style emphasizes symmetry A LOT it was just a joy to watch.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians - The lightning thief. //www.percyjacksonthemovie.com/

I'd give it a 7 out of 10, but my son absolutely loved it. And I quote "It was the best movie I ever saw!". LOL!

Just reminiscing with a colleague about classics based on classics:
- Pygmalion (1938)
- Pride and Prejudice (1940)
- Jane Eyre (1944)
- Great Expectations (1946)

All well worth seeing. I'd give "Pygmalion" a 10/10.

Shutter Island - great photography and atmosphere, but I found it too long. I thought there was quite a bit that could be cut. Got a bit bored.

The Hurt Locker - good tense drama. Actors were good and I like it stylistically.

Young Victoria - very interesting, I didn't know anything about her before hand. A little long but I didn't mind.

Avatar - Enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. Impressive visually.

Alice in Wonderland 3D score: 7/10

Visually impressive, and the plot moved along at a great pace. But I kept feeling that Johnny Depp didn't really get into his character; there was something lacking. Whereas usually he steals scenes, this time he was relatively subdued - I was expecting more.

Willy Wonka meets Lord of the Rings with a dash of Narnia for good measure.

My wife is going nuts about seeing Alice in Wonderland... I'm just a little apprehensive of another Burton/Depp combo. I think it lost all steam and purpose a while back.

The Hangover 8/10 - I'm not a fan of excessively crude humor, but this only had a tiny bit of that and the rest was pretty damn funny and the story was well put together.

Men who stare at goats - 0/10 - probably the worst movie of 2009, such a waste of talented cast, money and time to make a pointless boring movie
Ninja Assassin 4/10- another movie that I don't recommend, there were some good action scenes but it was too much gore&bloody with a lame storyline.
Shutter Island 9/10 - It's been a while since I've watched a movie that will make you think after watching it. If you liked Memento you will like this one.
New York I love You 10/10 - Absolutely wonderful, funny and relaxing movie, I enjoyed every one of the short stories of new yorkers.
The Box 10/10 - If you are fan of Donnie Darko then this is a must see. Another movie that will leave you breathless and amazed.
The Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day 8/10 - Great as the first one

Amelia - 6/10

Good life story but a bit slow in spots.

'The Box' 8/10 -Not blown away mostly predictable. Acting was good.
'2012' 8/10 -Much better then I thought it was going to be. Kept me watching most of the time.
IMHO: John Cusack and Nicolas Cage could be interchangeable. TWINS??

The Lovely Bones 5/10 - predictable plot, relied too much on effects

Second Skin- A documentary film I saw on Netflix about people obsessed with World OF Warcraft. I really liked it, but then again I'm a gamer. 8/10

Couples Retreat- Umm gimme back 90 minutes of my life just wasted.. At best 3/10.

Rented The Hurt Locker, haven't watched yet, hoping its good since it won Best Pic!
