Hey everyone,
A while back my brother accidentally ejected the built in memory card somehow on our computer, not just eject the card but the actual card reader. is there anyway to reinstall it or do something to get it running again, thanks in advance,

Has the computer been rebooted since then and the hardware still isn't being recognized?
If yes, isn'th there a utility under Add Hardware (in Custom Panel) that will walk thru and look for new/uninstalled hardware?
If you need to reinstall the drivers it should be on the system CD(s) you rec'd with the computer originally.
Probably other things to consider I'm sure...where are those PC tech DPCr's when you need them, eh? :) |

yes i have rebooted since then, but still wasnt recognized, i will try those things you posted, and appreciate the help

Did you open your computer case to make sure it is still plugged in inside?

yeah i even unplugged it and plugged it back in perfectly

| it "should" reinstall itself off of what was already there, otherwise do as glad2badad says but you might also need to go in to the hardware manager and remove the device there (it should be the one with a yellow ? or ! next to it, turn off the system, replug in the device and then boot up. It should automatically find the new hardware and do the necessary steps. Another tip you probably already know...keep your brother away from your computer lol j/k |
