I see that Nikon just released its new top of the line lens/shutter camera the P5100. On paper it looks like it would be a great addition to a Nikon user. It is light and pocketable, has an iTTL hot shoe, decent range (I wish it was wider than 35mm equiv.), has VR, etc, etc. But why will Nikon NOT give us a backup, take everywhere camera that shoots RAW? It seems down right silly to me not to provide this, as I'm sure it is only a software issue not hardware. I thought with Canon's introduction of the PowerShot G9 Nikon would surly follow their lead. OK I'll stop bitching now.

agreed ... it took canon way too long, it's unbelievable that it's taking so long for the manufacturers to see that there's a market for it (RAW point n shoot) and it won't hurt their DSLR sales.
