		| I don't know too much about the 920n Samsung that you're referring too but, I recently purchased a Samsung 226CW and once I got the video drivers sorted out.... WOW! It really looks fantastic and I can see all of the gradients in the scale that the other users are posting. It's a 22" LCD and runs at 1680x1050 native. I'm not sure what your budget is but, I just picked it up for around $379USD and I'm very happy with the choice, I think it's a great monitor for the price. |

I'll back that up - I just got the Samsung 226BW. The screen looked a little washed out. Had a fiddle with it - it even comes with its own profiling program (not compatible with my video card - unfortunately). Ended up putting a Spyder on it to calibrate it and WOW - I'm impressed as well. Unfortunately my wife has collared it for game play so I haven't been able to give it a good workout with Photoshop. But so far - very impressed.

		| I recently purchased an HP w2207 and I've only calibrated by eye (will be getting a Spyder or Huey soon)and I can see every box clearly except the last 2 blacks appear the same. That's not too bad for a monitor that really hasn't been properly calibrated. It can be had for less than 400 USD. |

For those of us that cannot afford good monitor calibration equiptment at this point, there is a bit of help by keeping your monitor as close as possible to the best it can be by using online help, this page was reccomended by another dpc'er a while ago, sorry I forgot to whom I owe my thanks for it, //www.photoscientia.co.uk/Gamma.htm. It does help!
