Got an email from Adobe yesterday offering CS3 for $299 as an upgrade to Photoshop Elements. I am still learning Photoshop, and don't feel like I've yet tapped everything Elements has to offer, having only used that program for about 4 months. I used to use the GIMP, but never did get the hang of everything it could do.
But $299 seems like a pretty good deal for CS3 ... so convince me I can't live without it! |

I'd say that answers the question. Save your money (or buy a nice lens) and continue to use Elements until you feel you are outgrowing it.

| On Adobe's site they list it as $199 upgrade. |

Usually that's from an older version of Photoshop, not Elements. |
