What caught my attention was the various plans, 1-2-3 and 5 year warranties. What surprised me was the fine print. If ever the camera was replaced during the term of the warranty, the warranty would automatically expire. So if I bought a 5 year warranty and after 3 months the camera broke and was replaced rather than repaired, I would have no warranty. Is this common with extended warranties? |
This is common for some service plans--
But this is for replacement, not service.. For instance, says your shutter needs replaced, that is covered, your getting the shutter repaired on your camera, they are not replacing your camera..
In that instance you still would have the plan intack after the service, what they are saying is that if your camera is so screwed up that they cant do any service for it and they have to give you a new camera, then the warranty is done, which like I said is common, and they would then offer you a new warranty errr or service plan on the new body..
EDIT to ADD--
In your scenario if the camera was to break within 3 months, you most likely would go with the manufactures warranty (1 year) and your service plan would still be there..
