Robert asked me to pass on the greetings to all and say he won't be back online until sometime late Monday after he gets home.

Met up with Robert today and dragged his old butt all over San Diego.
I drove my bug and subjected him to all the potholes I could find.

First order of the day was food.
Mexican food was the craving, so off to the same place I took Puzzled while she was here.

While we were eating, that dang camera of mine was acting all kind of weird until I realized why.
Yup - a Redhead was just outside the window, waiting on a bus.

OK, bellies full, we take off, and Robert directs me around the corner to stop and visit and old friend.
When we get there, I see a street.

After a short visit, we head West and spot a photographer nearby.

Still heading West, the altitude starts to change a bit as we go down the hill.

Down at sea level finally, we wait at a traffic light and nearly get run over by an airplane.

Finally, no more hills and plane near-misses, we start wandering the harbor and run across Ships, Boats, & a Submarine

As I cruise the people in the crowd for candids

I see to my utter amazement, Robert desperately trying to get a picture of a skiff with his high-tech gear
(odd, Skip uses one too)

It was windy too

Even spotted a family trying the latest in camouflage

We saw birds (imagine that)

Reflections in building glass (well I did anyway - Robert was still busy trying to find a skiff)

Even spotted a Pirate trying to shoot me

Saw the sailboat again

We finally get off the feets and head over to Balboa Park, me driving again

Robert spots a truck he wants wanted to buy

while I spot a Fortune Teller

I saved us the money there and drive on by, mumbling something about not having a fortune anyway - so who would she tell?

back downtown again, and not to be outdone by the Men in Black, the Girls in Green were spotted outside a parking structure or something that was clearly marked "Do not enter"

They must not be able to read

Off to Coronado so Robert can stop by and visit his daughter, but not before driving all around town snapping up "stuff"

and what else? Yup - more candids!

Finally get to Coronado, and while he was inside the Marriot, I spotted a Pink Flamingo feeding a newborn one.

Robert finally comes out, and as I looked back at the Flamingos, their actions said it all when they spotted him

That was the cue to take Robert back to his parents, and me to head home.

Hey it looks like you two crazies had heaps of fun. So you never told us what happened to the Green team?
08/26/2007 03:00:47 AM · #7
Thanks all, was a fun day, no itinerary, whatever, wherever.
All these pics btw, were basically raw convert, a levels check, resize or crop.

Dunno about the Girls in Green. I shot those out of the car while I was driving, and had cars behind me.
(think I drove Robert nuts with my shooting style and subjects - yup - LOTS of candids - LOTS!)

What a great photo log! Thanks for sharing. My fav is the look on the guy's face in the "Girls in Green" image. : )
Thanks for the update, and for giving Robert a break that I am sure he needed. I hope his shingles episode is letting up, or going away by now.

this might explain a bit about them...Miller Chill looks like they might be walking advertisements, personnally if it's a beer influenced by Latin beer I would think you'd have latin girls, (well maybe they are, hard to tell, never mind).

I met some of those girls over the weekend doing a promotional gig. Miller Chill tastes like corona with a lime. Cool pics by the way!

Trouble is my instant reaction was to think that you can now get your adult entertainment gift wrapped! I am a bad person for thinking this, I know....

Dang, Brad! You guys were 3 blocks from my house when you were here...

...yet you didn't come visit! ;-)

Hey Brad,
Thanks for posting the results of your outing with Brother Bear. An outing with Robert is never boring... might be freezing, but never boring!

You need to install the camera on the hood and turn your mirrors into a viewfinders.

It ain't just the potholes, it's the conjunction of primitive, buggy suspension, potholes, and shingles that done me in. Driving with Brad is DANGEROUS. He steers with his knees and takes pictures. And he---will--not---be---dissuaded! He has no fear, no common sense, no...something...

Oh, yeah, NO BEARD... That's what it is... He has no beard, bummer bummer.

But he IS generous with his time, and it's almost as fun as a 6 Flags coaster...

I'll shove in a picture or two shortly, but I wasn't going crazy like him, I was mostly moaning and whining...

As you can see, Brad and I take a different approach to gulls; and yes, it's the same gull at the same time....

How were we to know?
Were there any good potholes on the way so I could have jounced Robert around some more?
I tried to find all the good ones in SD.

My car rides a lot softer now too after letting out the extra 40psi of air out of the tires.
Amazing how a 15" tire feels like a wagon wheel when inflated to 70psi.
:P

But then it wouldn't be as fun to point, shoot, kick in the Nitrous and flee!

Well if you weren't so distracted by the scenery...
