My husband and I went for a drive today with our two boys, and we came across this old abandoned gas station with a rusted out Plymouth sitting near it. We live in Tennessee near Nashville, so we always love to drive out to these little country towns to see the sights, and boy were we glad we did today! We parked the car and began walking around when we finally realized there was a really long shaped delapidated building there that happened to be an abandoned motel. Then we found not just 1 50s era Plymouth, but 4! We also found a really cool Ford milk truck type vehicle that used to be used as a Book Mobile type of thing for some local library. We found these cars in Columbia, Tn and one of the Plymouths still had the original dealer emblem on it that said Columbia, Tennessee! How awesome! I'll be posting more photos as soon as I get them uploaded...I took A TON! But here's a link to the first few!

I like the pictures... they're all a bit eerie, in a good way. Would like to see some wider angle shots of the place if you have any.

Reminds me of that one scary movie... I forget what it's called, but a few kids take a wrong turn somewhere on a road trip in one of the southern states... and they all get hunted and killed by some wierd sadistic person. Somewhere in the movie they find a big field full of the cars of the guy's victims. That's the part it reminds me of. Good on you for finding this and recognising the photographic potential.

This is the kind of thing I love finding. My daughter and I spent days shooting in the back of my uncle's farm, where all the old vehicles and equipment were "parked" (read, abandoned). Sadly, that's all gone now :(

Absolutely wonderful shots :D

Found these on a property at my brother-in-law's place.

The grunge effect on the images suits them very well. I'll have to try that with my junk yard images.

I am so happy that we have cameras now that make it easier to have a record of time passing, as many of the scenes that we see today will be gone soon. Thank you for posting the beautiful set of pics of the old cars. I will check back to see the next set that you post.
Here's a bulldozer frame that I found in a pasture a few months ago. It has gone to the scrap place since then.

This is a wonderful collection. I really like "Savoy 2". Can you share any more info on the post processing you did? Looks like a great topic for a DPC tutorial.

Thanks for showing these!

Thank you so much guys! It really means a lot for everyone to think so highly of my work! I would love to share my post processing steps, it's actually not as in depth or difficult as you might think. I'll set aside some time later to really type it all out. Thanks again!!!
