Well had to go out this morning to buy a new tripod. My first was only big enough for my first digital camera, Kodak DX6490
My second was much bigger and stronger but still only plastic and yesterday the threads are now worn, and the tightening screw is thread bare. I wore it out in less than 12 months. I did use it to its death, due to the number of times I needed it for stability with my shakes, and heaver camera with lens, Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT.
My new one is all metal and a professional one, but should be much stronger for my use. Tripod - SLIK - Able 300 DX.
Hopefully this one will last the distance.
