Greetings Good People!
I am preparing to make a series of video tutorials for my twin sister who is very interested in learning photoshop. I made a test video tutorial for her but noticed that some of the PS CS3 docks are missing in video.
The pic below is a screen shot of the test video with arrows where the missing docks are supposed to be. Some of the docks are just missing the heading.
I'm not sure what settings I should use to get this right. Any thoughts on what's up with this? I've had this app for minute but have never used it.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

| Gee, that looks strange. Maybe try using capture full screen (or sth similiar) instead of telling it to record one specific window. It might mistake the palettes for individual windows? |

Interesting. I have a widescreen monitor and I get a message window saying that the res on my screen is too big. I did a vid with full screen and got the same results. Will try again tho.

| Okay, then you might try to tell it to record a specific part of your screen. If I remember well you can draw a window or enter the pixel coordinates of what you want to record. |

You're right bc that's what I did with the video from the screen shot in the OP.
Gonna try your first suggestion. Will be back.

Send Judi a PM.
That's what she uses in her tutorials. |

Okay. As per Gloda's suggestion, this is what I did:
-Entire Screen
-No audio
-Disable display acceleration (have tried with it with the original vid)
-Large Recording Dimension (1200x800)
Still got the same problem.

I have not seen that problem before. I capture anything from part screen to full screen. And I also get the warning about the screen being too big...but I still capture it...and I don't lose any headings. It sounds to me like a programme error. It may be an idea to uninstall the programme...do a complete clean up (Sypbot, Adaware, Clean Up, Defrag), reboot and reinstall, then see how you go.

is this just happening in camtasia cause very often desktop recorders dont pick up certian things, its like playing a movie on windows media and hittin the print screen button to do a screenshot, when you paste it it wont turn up. mabey it is just a downside of camtasia

Can you try capturing a different graphics programme to see if it is definitely Camtastia and not Adobe.

Are you using Windows XP or Vista? If so your hardware accelaration may be an issue.
"Turn off Hardware Acceleration System-Wide
Because the system-wide option effects all applications on the system, it may cause performance problems for some applications and others may not run at all.
There are some applications which require hardware acceleration to run properly. Games, CAD programs and TV cards are some examples. In this case, try other methods to reduce CPU load such as reducing the capture area, lowering the capture frame rate, or using a faster computer.
Note: The option to disable display acceleration is not available on Windows Vista.
On Windows XP or 2000
Select Control Panel > Display > Properties > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshooting.
Slide the Hardware Acceleration slider to None.
On other versions of Windows
Select Control Panel > System > Performance tab > Graphics > Advanced settings.
Slide the Hardware Acceleration slider to None.
"

Also in the 'Recorder Capture Tab' (Path: Choose Recorder > Tools menu > Options > Capture tab. ) check the 'Capture Layered Window' to see if that makes a difference on your system.
