The Aspen Daily News, a 14,900 circulation hard-news daily newspaper in Aspen, Colo., has an immediate opening for a talented photojournalist intern.

The position will last six months, running roughly from mid September into March.

The selected candidate will be treated as a staff photographer, working 40-hour + weeks during the paid internship and will provide top-quality photography for our newspaper, three weekly publications and website. Graduating college seniors and recent graduates are ideal, as there is the possibility of a full time staff position available at the end of the internship. candidate will work closely with the chief photographer, editors and reporters to develop compelling and insightful community-based images with an international appeal.

The internship includes
a $1,000 monthly stipend and free housing for the duration of the internship. You must have a reliable car, a valid driver̢۪s license and proof of auto insurance. You must provide your own professional-grade equipment.

If it was in the summer, or it was 1992 I would be all in for this. What a great gig! A place to shack up in Aspen for the winter while taking photos and kicking back on the slopes. This is what B rated ski movies are about!

I so wish I could. :(

if I am not mistaken I think that movie took place in aspen...? Where are all the 2o year old colorado photogs? This is some killer opp!

I just found out they made a II of that...That will be going in my Netflix cue!

Sounds good - except that I hate snow, I'm enrolled in school full time and I probably don't have enough experience yet.

If one of these pops up at the LA Times next June, I'll be all over it...

Oh, and chicks would really dress like that at the beach, as opposed to on some snowy mountain where it's minus 2 million degrees at noon.

yeah, probably would be a lot like that except with a DPC'er at the helm, the photography would probably be a lot better. Ski photography is really fun. Snow is one hell of a reflector. nothing like being able to actually shoot stuff at f/5.6 at 1/2000. Dream conditions.

Remember this one. The guy dies though. Sort of like Top Gun but on skis.
