| I'm going to Minneapolis (Mall of America) tomorrow and I want to buy a lens or two and maybe some filters and stuff. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced shop near the Mall or even in it? |

There is a Ritz Camera in the mall and a National Camera Exchange about ten minutes away. I wouldn't necessarily consider either of them reasonably priced but I'm not sure what you're used to. I also avoid giving my money to National Camera because I think they have horrific service.
Farther away, actually in Minneapolis (the MOA is in Bloomington, south of the cities), is West Photo. I find them to be slightly more reasonably priced but they also have excellent customer service.

| I've used National Camera for years but I find that their prices are high. They seem to cater to novices yet they advertise that their sales people are all photographers. Many of my friends shop at West Photo because they get a better price. Hope you enjoy your trip. |

| National Camera Exchange's advantage is that they have TONS of stock, including used, reburb and commission sales, and all their staff (in my experience) are shooters so they know of which they speak. The think you have to be careful of (as with anywhere you go) is that they may be trying to get rid of something they have too much of. If you go in knowing what you're looking for (e.g., a decent wide angle), you have a reasonable chance of finding something pretty good at a decent price. If you go in as an ignorant noob looking to spend money, you're likely to be sold something you really don't need. |

I would avoid buying anything electronic at the mall. Cost 10% more
