On the Canon 24-105. After literally weeks of pondering, considering, weighing the options, longing... I've never hovered over a "Place your order" button so long in my life.

I can't wait! (Of course I selected 2 day shipping!) Here's to not looking back! =)

Hey, good deal...

I'm still hovering over the same one...

You'll love it. Mine lives on the 30D, except when I play with the 10-22. It's an awesome lens - very good range.

Thanks guys.

Gah! Has anybody else ordered from B&H? What's the average "order processing" time? Perhaps I've been spoiled by NewEgg's near-instantaneous service. =P

What are the thoughts on Amazon.com? I noticed that the price changed on Amazon today, because it comes from different sellers. (I.E. this item shipped from PhotoWorld), like an eBay store. Are these mini stores credible?

I'm probably going to stick with B&H, but I'm just curious.

LOL - B&H must have read this forum, because I got the shipping notice (I kid you not) 1 minute after my last post. Phew! Maybe I'll still get it before the weekend.

B&H is usually pretty quick about shipping :-)

I got the 24-105 a few weeks back from B&H. I was very surprised at the delivery time given I'm in NZ. I ordered on Friday night (NZ time, so thats Friday afternoon in the US) and the lens was in NZ on the Tuesday. Of course it sat in customs with paperwork for another 2 days but I expected a week or so at least for it to get to NZ.

I hope so. I should'a just bought yours when it came up. =)

I agonized over losing the wide end, but consoled myself in the fact that my next upgrade will be a body, and hopefully FF will be reasonably priced later. Then the 24 will be in fact wider than my current 17 x 1.6.

Is it Friday yet??

Love to know if you feel constrained by less bokeh than the 24-70.
--that's my own point of agony right now.

I found the bokeh to be adequate and pleasing.

I was recently in NY and decided to do the Mecca thing and went to B&H WOW!!!!! What a place. I bought a dual charger bin for my 5D since I managed to leave the one it came with plugged in at home...hey atleast it wasn't the iron I left plugged in!

The obligatory SP:

I'm way busy at work for the next 3-4 weeks, so we'll see if I get a chance to take any "real" pictures...
