Anybody else notice that the Tamron 24-135 seems to have a $100 rebate through August 31 - that's 25% off... See the rebate info and the B&H page.
Am I reading this wrong? Impressions on this lens? Don't seem to be too many owners here at DPC...
Edit: $359 at Amazon... don't know if rebate still applies

Obviously marked down because I'd bet the Canon 28-135 IS for $409 beats the pants off it. But for $299? ...
The Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 which so many rave about, by comparison, only has a $10 rebate (off of $379). Obviously a stronger player. |

The Tammie 24-135 is a great lens - go check some reviews on it. As a walk around it's great, or for studio work where you don't need a fast lens. It's also parfocal so it's a fine night lens (parfocal means you can zoom in to focus and then zoom out and focus doesn't change)
The canon is a fine lens for film...it's not as sharp as most other 'digital' lenses.
