I have the opportunity to upgrade from CS2 to CS3. Not sure if I should. Are there any bugs in CS3 which I need to be aware of. I am still working my way through CS2 and am worried that I might drown in the new stuff in CS3. I would like to be able to use the HDR in CS3 but I could stick with CS2 and just buy a HDR programme as an extra. What do you all think. Opinions please.

CS2 includes HDR. Under file menu > automate > merge to hdr. Or you can access it in Bridge under tools.

I think that Olyuzi meant that CS3 includes HDR. I've been using it now for oh....6 months under Vista and XP with zero issues.

I say go for it.

Yeah, I have yet to encounter any bugs running it on XP.

Can anyone tell me how much space CS3 uses?

Well I have Creative Suite Suite 3 Design Premium installed, it takes approximately 2.2 GB of hard drive space. I believe that if you install Photoshop / Bridge you'll be around 100 MB.

I'm just guessing on those last figures.

I think it depends on what you use it with. Right now I have the following space recorded on my 'puter:

209 MB for Creative Suite Design premium. I think this includes Dreamweaver, Bridge & Photoshop. This is just the install tho I imagine it's a bit bigger what with all the plugins/actions & such.

For me CS3 runs better than CS2. Oh an no bugs to report only lots of new goodies.

With CS3 you can process your jpeg files using the RAW image processing utility. It really helps to have this advantage for quick adjustments to white balance and exposure. I especially like the 'Recovery' feature which permits recovery of detail in highlight areas. I also like the 'clarify' adjustment! CS3 is the best of the best!

Additional non-destructive layers = plus :)
