Try being me. Though I knew that would happen. I still think it's an awesome shot, but maybe it wasn't right for the challenge. I thought it fit the challenge myself, but I gave it a shoehorn title 'cause I was worried that people wouldn't make the connection themselves. Stupid me, I shoulda left it untitled.
Edited to say: I recovered from a 4.6 start. I only have one four and I never want another one. I hope I stay above 5 now.

why is it that when a challenge says Details: Literally... or figuratively. when you do a figuratively picture everyone votes it low??? Doesn't anyone read the rules anymore??? I can't wait until this challenge is over to post this comment on here so everyone can seriously laugh at this guy.

can you pm me with the first and last letter of his name. A friend of mine has a shot in the challenge. It HAS wings and the guy commented "Does not meet the challenge" !!!!

I don't think so, adapt or die by DNMC Nazi's. :P
And please don't post the comment, I think it makes people want to comment even less even if they wouldn't make a comment like you received. The mild threat of having your comment called out in the forums holds people back from commenting at all. I'll take one bonehead comment to get two good comments. Just my opinion. |

Maybe people just didn't get it. There are some photos in there that I didn't get, but if they were still interesting and/or aesthetically pleasing I didn't vote them low (low being 5 and under). Don't feel too bad, alot of people don't get mine (which is why I have it spelled out in the title, though I think that just made people vote even lower since now it looks like a shoehorn).
If alot of people don't get it, you can expect a low score. (And don't try explaining it with the title, cause that'll get you an even lower score). Also, if it's ugly or uninteresting, it'll probably get a low score. Simply put, I failed at appealing to a broad audience, and/or convincing the voters that I achieved the goal of this challenge.

Hi! I'm a complete noobie here (the wings challenge is my first one!) so I apologize if this question has a really obvious answer...
Is it possible to see the breakdown of your photo's votes while the challenge is going on? I see my votes, views, average vote, comments, etc. But reading this thread it sounds as though you guys are able to see how many people have voted what number on your photo..?

After it's over you can see a full breakdown of your votes recieved. I think these guys are just using their math skills. Nerds!!!!!

I was up to 6.74, the last fifteen votes averaged less than 5. :/
Still happy with my score but I found it strange to get slammed so consistently. Hopefully tomorrow turns around. :) |

I hear ya: had to go back and check my votin distribution and pick out the "best of"...best of the dragonflies, best of the hummingbirds, best of the butterflies.... Hmm would have really liked more unconventional images.... Gave out a 10 (haven't done that in a while and many 7-9's as well. Also a ploddingly many 5's.....
Results will be interesting.

| I voted on all and commented on a few. I'm glad I choose a different subject than most. There are a few awesome insect photos that I have voted higher than I would have voted my own, and also some that weren't insects. I am glad with my score at the moment but I hope it goes up a tad rather than down. |

exactly...many times the scores raise a little the last day of voting.
I'd like to score a 6+ again...I cant believe I have a yellow ribbon and after that so many báááád scores :-(

Woo Hooo. I know this is a high scoring challenge tho, with lots of 7's, so no designs on a ribbon. . .s'pecially with my teammate MAK kicking everyone's butt (GO MAK!!!) but I am floating being in the 7 range. My little wings are soaring with delight :)
