Well kids, I've hit the big time! I've been saving my money, saying my prayers and before I took the plunge, my parents stepped in and gave me the best birthday present EVER:
A Cannon 400D XTi with Zoom lens, filters, bag... all the good stuff!
I know most people just get a credit card and take the "plunge" by getting all the goodies, taking the classes and jump into the biz, so to speak, but I'll be honest, I was scared.
I've taken countless classes, stalked many a DPCer, soaked up all the wisdom I could and kept every last prop, backdrop and costume I've ever found in the past 4 years to finally decide, "you know, maybe I can do this".
I know there is lots of labor, lots of discouragement and lots of lows, but most importantly - I don't care. Photography is what makes me happy - it gives me joy - and I don't get sick of it. It challenges me, I learn every day and who can say they get to make memories for others?!
I say, "Bring on the discouragement" and with my new camera, I finally feel like I can stand big with the "big boys" even though I'm just a noob. Yeah me!
With that said, here are some shots I took yesterday with my poopy camera that is barely listed on the "device list" and will be the last session I ever have without my new baby. :) :) :)
Read the caption before you say it looks familiar.
These are just a few I've whipped up since yesterdays shoot. She is the cutest model ever and I want to thank everyone now for your time. I know I'm a little fish in a big pond... but I'm swimming happy right now! and I want to thank lots of the DPCers for giving me the hope, the kindness, and the encouragement to feel confident!
:) Parents Rock! (even when your 22)
