... If you can somehow scan those little things that you purchase at the beach when the guys and gals walk around and take your picture and then bring back those little things you look through into the light? My parents have all kinds of these from when they were really young and from when I and my brother and sister were very young and I would like to get them made into prints. Can they somehow be scanned on a regular positive slide scanner?

If anyone has done this or knows how to go about doing this I would really appreciate it.

I"m not sure I know what these are.. we didn't go to a beach when I was young..
But if they are like those viewmaster toys, and have a paper material with a transparency sandwiched between layers.

Then yes you can scan them, if you can get the image either out of the paper or to a size where you can get it onto a scanner that has a slide attachment.

MY Epson 1250 has an add on piece that you can put slides or negatives in and then scan

I think the key here is for you define "those little things" a little bit better. :) If you are talking about a fish you found at the beach, then yes, you could easily scan a that by slapping the thing onto a flat bed scanner and into PS.

I know what he meant...those little keychains. You get your picture taken and they put them in a little box and you hold it up to the light and look through the hole to see the photo...like a viewmaster, except that you can't flip the pictures or put in different discs.

I have no idea if you can scan them, though.

Thanks for your comments! I believe it can be done so as long as you have a positive slide scanner to scan them with. I'm going to try and see if any of my friends at work have one. I have a scanner but it doesn't do slides or negatives. :-\

Thanks again for your comments!
