Actually, he's just left Hawaii and I expect him here in California any day now. Check out the updated duck blog to see the fun he had on the islands with annah!

You know, as much time as I spend reading the forums, it's amazing how much I miss. And it would be helpful not to miss important threads like this, especially when a strange package arrives at the door, thank you Scalvert...!

Seymour paid a visit to California this week, and spent the day hanging around the Bay Area. He wanted to start the day with a morning swim to shake the jet lag off from his flight from Hawaii but, alas, the Bay was still closed. . He snuck down to the beach anyway, just to check it out. .

Reinvigorated by his early morning stroll, he decided to head into San Francisco. He wanted to see the sights, so he decided to do a fly by of the Transamerica Pyramid. He was pretty hungry after that, so I offered to take him over to Chinatown to grab something to eat.

But once we got there, he kind of lost his appetite. . So we decided to check out the Golden Gate Bridge instead, both from Crissy Field, , and on the Marin County side.

Seymour was pretty pooped by then. All he wanted to do was to go home. What better way to end his California adventure than to hang out, sans suits, in a hot tub with his brand new friends.

He's still sleeping this morning, but he's taking off for his next adventure in Oregon later today. Have fun, Seymour, and thanks for stopping by!

i know the ins' and outs' of them pretty well if you run into trouble...

if that damn duck ever gets to vermont he'll likely soak in our 1996 cimmaron ;}

Anything new from Sam? I sent him on a few weeks ago.

He started his day today by reading our local morning paper.
[thumb]609729[/thumb]

After reading about a couple of issues, he decided to go and vote with me today...so off we went. At the poll location he spotted George Bush, who signed the "No Child Left Behind" education bill at our high school.
[thumb]609726[/thumb]

He spoke at length with George about a similar idea Sam had for his friends...
[thumb]609725[/thumb]

Then, we went sightseeing a bit. Our town is know as the "City of Sculpture" so I took him to see one of my favorites and he decided it looked like fun.
[thumb]609727[/thumb]

When he found out we had a river, he was pretty demanding to go and see it (as I suppose most ducks would.) For this part of the trip, we took along a friend. My daughter has a dalmation collection and someone gave her this duck to add to it. Our hometown duck showed Sam the river and city view.
[thumb]609723[/thumb]

It is VERY cold and windy here today, so we came back home and Sam wanted to head out someplace else. He'll be in the mail to his new destination tomorrow!

I'm glad you asked! Surprisingly enough, I spotted the band just yesterday as they were preparing to perform the National Anthem before the Steelers / Jaguars game at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh:

sweet Alan! I received the band here in Alaska a couple days ago. I've been down with a bad respiratory bug, but hope to recover soon. Then me and the band will have some fun.

Sam says "hello" from Florida. He was expecting to go spend C-mas in snowy New York state but, unexpectedly, had to change his plans at the last minute to accompany me on a sad family event. I will get some pictures of him enjoying the Gulf Coast waves today but since I have no card reader I won't be able to upload anything until early next week.

Sam is ready to move on and says that delayed flights and airport congestion don't scare him any! So, who would like to take Sam around next?

Day 7 of the horrid respiratory bug. :( The Band did amuse Venus (one of my kitties) by providing her a Cat House Concert. These guys were trippin' ! Or perhaps it's me and my meds?

More pics as soon as I am up and going again.

I see Seymour has made it to California. Any updates? Or has he been kidnapped like the rest of his buddies?

Well, since Seymore hasn't made it here yet, I'll go with the others. PM sent.

Figured I would update everyone on this:

Well Seymour has taken 5 months to make it 7 states. At this rate it will take 10 years to make it back to me. I have really given up on this project and feel people have just dropped the ball not only on Seymour but the other ones as well. I have accepted the fact that I wasted over $40 shipping these things if no one wants to keep it going.

Lesson learned.

ETA: Thanks to those that did participate and send them on their way in a timely manner.

I don't blame you for being frustrated. I wish that people wouldn't sign up for things that they're not able to follow through with. I've been waiting for Seymore to make it to Idaho for ages! This should have been a really fun project and it's a shame that it ended up being a dissapointment.

Does anyone even know where he is? Who is the last person to actually see Seymour?

I had such fun with him and feel its such a shame that this did not happen in a timely manner. :-(

Well I just received a pm from EstimatedEyes that he mailed it to JeffDay in December. Which just got me pissed(I really don't care if anyone gets mad at me anymore) I have given away tons of stuff here and feel like we all signed on to see this project through. I really feel like I wasted time and money here In a sense I feel I was F*&KED!

I am not trying to call out any names here but I really feel like if anyone signed up for it then they should complete it.

02/05/2008 08:52:11 PM · #199

Well here is the deal. I give up. Someone else needs to take over this. Anyone wanna volunteer?

Take over Seymour and his friends.
