Does anyone know where I can find a model release form or how to create one? I am planning on doing some city trips and I might photoshoot some folks in the streets. Anyone know where I can find some model releases? and what is the best way to approach people to sign them?

Permission To Use Pictures

In consideration for value received, receipt whereof is acknowledged, I hereby give photographer̢۪s name goes here the absolute right and permission to publish, copyright and use pictures of me in which I may be included in whole or in part, composite or retouched in character or form, in conjunction with (initial those applicable):

_______my own name

_______a fictitious name

_______no name to be used

If the person photographed is under 18, I certify that I am his or her parent or legal guardian and I give my consent without reservation to the foregoing on his or her behalf.

Name:____________________________________

Address:__________________________________

Phone: ____________________________________

Signature:__________________________________

Just walk right up and ask them! "Hi, I'm joe photographer, I just got this great shot of you from over there, would you like a copy? Please may I use it on my website as well?" hand them the release....

Probably not -- you should only need a release of the person is recognizable ... usually that means the face is clearly visible.

I've used these (and related images) as stock photos with no release:
