I just wanted to let everyone know that Kelly Blue Book sucks so bad. These idiots do nothing but give false hopes to buyers which in turn gets them mad at me when I sell cars. Its so stupid. KBB uses auction price to give a book value for private sale, are you joking? That is completely wrong. The banks, DMV, auto dealers, everyone who is in the know uses NADA yet KBB still sticks around F ing everything up.

Yeah, I quit using that pile o steaming crap a while ago. If I need to know what the car is worth I just call my bank and give them all the info, find out what they will lone on the car and work the rest out with the private seller / dealer.

Sorry for your troubles man.

:D

its not really trouble for me all teh time, just sometimes when a buyer thinks KBB is the final word.

I sell about 12-20 cars/year. I know what they are worth, what their resell value is and what the demand is which ultimately dictates price. I get calls asking why are you asking so much when KBB says its $1K less. I tell them KBB is crap and NADA has it at $2K more than what Im asking.

When will people realize that suggested prices don't mean dick, ever, for any item. A seller will sell when both buyer and seller agree to a price. Even if KBB says its $3K, if I want $3500 your not getting my car for $3K.

Sometimes NADA does screw me. When I register a car that I bought for $4K because I know people but books at $6K, unless the seller is a registered dealer, I have to pay taxes on $6K. Kind of sucks but whatever, the man needs his tax $$.
