I still use my Nikon F50 (35mm SLR) for the occasional shot, but obviously not for this site!!

I believe my Sigma 80-300 Lens, and all F mount lenses, will be compatible with the forthcoming Nikon D70. My question is... does anyone have experience of using lenses for traditional 35mm SLRs on D-SLRs? (What should I know and how does it perform?)

Many Thanks,
Terry.

Normally! Don´t exist lens to a DSLR. Only to SLR. That you use in your DSLR with a cropt factor. The mount of the lenses are the only restrictions. In this case, your lens will be compatible. Some manufactors, like Cannon and Nikon made a set of lens with ED glass, expensive, but very efficient to dimm the chromatic aberrations of lens in to a DSLR, it fits better than normal glass. The aperture ring, must be present to all lens that you intent to use with a DSLR of any brand.
