We met Crabappl3 (Danny) at the Dallas World Aquarium this past Sunday and we had a shoot out.

My wife Penny and I had a great day shooting and finally meeting Danny (Crabappl3). Danny thanks for such an enjoyable day! Penny and I are looking forward to the spring safari trip! Marking my calendar.

We did not get home until late and I was so tired I laid down while I was uploading the shots (176 mostly CRW) and fell asleep! I woke up and went back to work on my NG entry that I had started earlier this week. I finally finished and selected my entry close to the deadline.

I just started looking over and processing the images from the Shoot with Danny and my eye caught this shot first.

Shot this several feet away using my Canon EOS 10D, Canon series L F5.6 IS 100-400mm Zoom, and 420EX flash. Shot at an angle with the flash tilted.

Nice shot. I haven't done to much with mine yet, here is one that I almost submitted for NG, but I felt the voters wouldn't like the dots from shooting through the waterfall... Little did I know they'd like yellow borders more ;-)

I'm looking forward to fossil rim in the spring! It was fun meeting you and Penny.

Danny very nice shot!
I love the effects of the waterfall.
I can see where they would be misread though.

Next time we promise to stop at the ATM before we get there and I will have extra AA batteries :) It was just a very busy week and weekend.

This shot isn't a ribbon but is it nice considering it was shot at 1/20s hand held with the same equipment.

Calvus, I'm in Dallas also if you ever want company on a shoot.

I did not know that!
We could have made the shoot together with Crabappl3
We are planning a safari shoot to Fossil Rim in the spring.
It will be in an open jeep (Hopefully) and cost $35.00 a person.
I plan on renting the big lens again for this shoot.
Let me know if you are interested (That is if you do not mind keeping company with an old fart :) )

P.S.

Anyone else that wants to make this trip just let me know.
It is in Glen Rose, Texas.

There is a very nice Italian restaurant in Glen Rose where we can gather afterwards if you want for dinner.
