Dear friends,
I have shot a wedding for some friends and want to offer them a choice of places who can print a wedding album for them. They have the DVD of the pix I took and can upload them themselves.
Do you have a list of great printers (all price ranges) that you would highly recommend I use as "recommendations" for places that couples can upload and print their wedding albums?
I have used kodakgallery, and you get what you pay for. It's a great album for $30, but it's not amazing. I think it's more fun for holidays and vacations than weddings. Where can someone print those albums with thick pages with the foil lining that are huge and heavy and bound really nice (to last a lifetime)?
Thanks for your help! |

I know of lots of places - but you have to be a pro to use them.
Mpix now offers some type of coffeetable book and i've heard Mpix stuff is pretty good.
MyPublisher is always a popular choice - it's not pro-level and not something a pro should be selling, but it's not bad (just that a pro can get better stuff for about the same price)
If you want regular prints they can stick in themselves lots of places sell TAP products to anyone. Google TAP and you'll see a large selection of books and albums and the like. You want 'digital' or 'flush mount' type books or else you need to buy a cover, leaves and then mats, often in quantity and this isn't going to be a low budget deal.

Having created an MPIX album, I'd give it thumbs down for a wedding album. My reasoning is that the paper cover is not attractive or durable. You also need to take extra cautions dealing with the centerline of the book as you lose 3/4" because of the scoring used to make the pages lie flat.
The best I've seen and everyone gives thumbs up to is Asuka Books. Everyone raves about Asuka for a wedding album. |

Like Prof said. For most of the good quality albums you have to be a pro with a website and a tax id number.

So, what else can be recommended? I don't want to use mpix or kodakgallery. Anything else that's much better? |
