I agree. I've voted on five shots, four are 10's and one nine. They are really some of the best ever.
01/19/2004 12:33:20 AM · #4
You obviously haven't voted on mine yet.

I agree - can't believe the array of gorgeous shots this time!

Funny how the first photo I saw had an yellow border. Something I mentioned in a prediction thread last week. Aside from that they all look good so far.

I better keep pressing update. It gets better every time.

I know what you mean, I'm scared to go to bed, afraid that I'll wake up in the morning and my score will have dropped dramatically and it was all a dream that my score was finally for once above a 6.

National Geographic has a yellow border! Score the shot based on the shot, not the freaking border!

Hey where did this comment come from? I'm not the one who commented on the yellow borders here, I was just stating that for once I am happy with my score. Although I agree that even though National Geographic does use a yellow border there are some shots in the challenge that it does not work well with, and I am entitled to that opinion.

I KNOW! Totally blown away! I like 'em all except for the gratuitous use of the yellow border where it does not compliment the shot.

Weather kept me from entering. I was cursing the snow earlier but now... I ain;t so mad!

These shots seriously make me want to go to the zoo. Ugh, gotta get a parent to drive me 45 mins to Miami.

i think the yellow borders are very fitting in a National Geographic challenge and voting down a good photo because you don't like the yellow border is completely ridiculous. last time i checked, National Geographic magazine didn't color-coordinate their covers.

I never said I was voting down because of the border, I simply stated that in my opinion there were some shots it didn't work well with, and I'm not even sure how this all got put on me in the first place, I'm not even the one who made the comment about borders, if you go back and read through the thread all I mentioned was my score...geesh, how did this get pinned on me????

I was hoping for a few bare-breasted tribal babe shots, but you can't have everything... :)

Seriously, I thought this was a particularly well-done batch, too! Kudos to all!

I have not voted down anyone for having a yellow border and I have no intention of doing so. I only vote it down if the YELLOW distracts from the beauty of the image.

Lighten up on the NATIONAL Geographic has a yellow border issue...last time I looked this challenge wasn't to create a magazine COVER but to create a photo that could appear in the magazine.

Actually I think it covers both as sometimes the cover shot also appears inside as well.
