The topic I'm hosting at Suite101 used to belong to someone else...this other editor had a tips and tricks newsletter I'd like to revive.

What tips and tricks do you know and would be willing to share?

You can submit your tips and tricks HERE

If you'd like to subscribe to the newsletter, you can do so here: //www.suite101.com/topic_page.cfm/10664/2792

Thanks in advance :)
Shari

Ok ... I left a tip via your form. You might get others to submit tips if you'd let us know if there are any particular areas you'd like to see covered -- composition, studio lighting, outdoor lighting, lens selection, filters? Who do you perceive your audience to be -- rank beginners, snapshooters, serious amateurs? Are you looking for tips only related to digital photography or film photography, too?

Another tip is to carry a small fold-up reflector with you. When the light on a small subject is just too harsh, you can fill in the shadows by using the reflector.

Another one is to carry a very small atomizer filled with water (in a plastic bag) and use it to create "dew" on a flower you're going to shoot.

Good luck with your project!

Excellent Point about wanting to know what I need.

The site is broad-based and the audience is everyone from beginner to pro. I need both digital and film tips, as well as both kinds of darkroom tips.

Basically, anything you've ever learned from someone and you said "Gee, I wish I'd known that earlier," you should share that.

Tall order, lady. I've been taking pictures for over 50 years (gawd, I'm old!) but I'll try to come up with a few for you.

How many do you need per newsletter and how often is it published?

I'm shooting for once a month and about 3-6 (possibly 9) tips per newsletter. First edition should be ready to go in a very short time...Sneak a January edition in with the links and tips I have right now.

Thanks for your help :)
