You wouldn't be trying a Deja Vu shot near Moab would you? I was thinking about a quick jaunt that way myself. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be happening.

Well, I hate to do it, but with all the other traveling I've been doing this year, looks like the wallet won't support this one. Hope y'all have a great time and maybe I'll be able to make it to next years GTG down there. (There will be another one next year, right? :) |

Noooooo. C'mon Eric. You were part of the crowd that came up with the idea for this GTG in St. Augustine. You can squeeze one more trip in can't you?

If this one goes as well as I think it will, then I'm sure we'll make it an annual event like the Red Rock GTG.....But you'll have to wait a whole year!
O.K., have it your way, but you'll have to put up with a ton of great pictures from everybody else that's going and then you'll wish you had made this one. ;) |

Not here, but I'm thinking of bringing a can opener!
I am so ready for this trip! |

You can use the can opener to open a can of corn or dog food underwater to attract the colorful reef fish while you are snorkeling and getting some great shots.
Don't forget the underwater housing! |

The can opener was meant to open the roof of the rental car. ;) |

That's up to everybody to decide. Certainly, there is a lot to do in the keys and there are choices to be made. But a lot of what the keys has to offer has to do with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. The tropical reefs on the ocean side are one of the main attractions that draws visitors from around the world. I live here so I can go whenever I want to. But if I was traveling from far away I wouldn't choose to miss it.
I don't have an hour by hour or even a day to day specific activity itinerary planned. What I've planned so far is where we will generally be from day to day and I've offered a lot of ideas about where to go and what to do. I thought that I should leave the finer details until the time that we meet up on October 2nd so that we all can discuss it.
I just assumed that getting underwater to view the reefs would definitely be something that we would do whether or not we bring our cameras. I've got an underwater housing for one of my cameras (D70) and I saw that Becky said that she was going to start looking into them.

I picked up an underwater housing for my D70 or D200 which also hold the flash (allows the colors to come through.) I plan on snorkeling.
BTW - I've been checking the weather forecast. It looks like we can count on some rain during our stay. I may keep the housing on to protect the camera from the rain. ;-) Sounds great to have clouds and moody weather while we're there. It brings so much emotion and mood to the shots! |
