yes.

i call photography a 'subtractive' art.

it involves pulling information to make an impact, rather than building up a blank canvas. but it's art. that's why we see the difference between snapshots and some of the things we see here.

end of discussion.

Nor do I.

Neither do I have much use for judgemental people who jump to conclusions about someone based on one negative opinion on someone they like.

If you want to discuss something intelligently or openmindedly, then do so.

I don't particularly care for Susan Sontag's take on things.....so what?

That doesn't mean I'm only open to those I agree with.

You know less about me than I know about Susan Sontag.

But you have already condemned me.

And you know nothing about me.

How openminded is that?

I've at least familiarized myself with one of her works.

I didn't even say that it was bad, I merely stated that I don't care for her perspective.

So.....bite me!

You presume that I like Susan Sontag in her entirety. I only commented on her writings in one book. You extend that to me offering praise for her and all of her work. How arrogant can you be? You, on the other hand, take your own interpretation of another Sontag work and extratpolate that to dismiss her writings on photography. That doesn't say "open-minded" to me.

As for knowing anything about you, well, you know as little about me, yet you continue to make presumptions about me as well.

I only know about you from what I read on DPC and let's just say you don't come across as open minded, or even likeable. Maybe that's inaccurate, then again, maybe not. I don't really know, nor do I care to find out.

And as for biting you, I'll take a pass. If you're into that sort of thing, I'm sure you can find a different sort of website that caters to that and any other odd fetishes you might have.

OK Spazmo, any great suggestions as to how I should clean my monitor now .... :O)... I know I shouldn't laugh, but I'm a weak, weak, man.
