I don't know why, but FedEx is a joke. 80% of the things that they deliver to me arrives late.
I ordered a phone last week - got the tracking number. It was to be here Tuesday. Tuesday comes and no package - their website no longer has an expected delivery date (???) I check again today when it doesn't arrive and it's in California...so I call and I am told it got 'misrouted' to california (i'm in PA, it shipped form indiana) and is on a truck to me from california, will take 4 to 5 business days (meaning NEXT tuesday or wednesday - maybe - they won't guarantee that of course). They can't upgrade the speed of things, cause, well it's on a truck going across the country and they don't have access to the truck.
No, the can't upgrade the shipping when the truck gets to the next terminal...and no, they can't tell me why either.
Since I am not the shipper, they can't do anything for me to make up for this.
I get screwed and not even a cigarette.

BTW, UPS is great - I can set my watch by when time the driver gets here - and that includs the two temp drivers that covered for the regular guy over the summer!

I agree man, Fedex sucks. I ordered a bunch of prints from Bay PHoto and they came. The box had "photographs DO NOT BEND" stamped all over it. I live in a condo, they left it outside by the mailbox in the rain. They couldn't walk the 10 extra steps to the staircase to my unit which would have been covered and out of sight. If Bay Photo didn't package their shipments so well this Fedex guy would have ruined all my prints.

Why do they also think 1:30 on a weekday is the best time to deliver. I got a tag saying delivery will be attempted the same time the next day and if no one is there is going to be returned to shipper. Who is home at 1:30? Worst part is the fedex building is only 2 blocks from my house and I can't schedule a pickup...

F*&% them, UPS is the way. I had to set up a mailbox at a UPS store so I can get packages to 7pm because I am never there when they try.

couldn't agree more ... in fact, I won't purchase from an on-line retailer unless they give me a UPS option ... under no circumstances will I deal with FedEx ... they have screwed me over more times than I can remember ... the wost being when I ordered my camera ... the website said they were scheduled for a Saturday delivery (yeah, I'm home on Sat) ... so I proceded to sit there all day long ... not leave once ... and at 9:30 pm I finally realized that they weren't going to show up ... I had called and called and called and called them ... only to get the total run around and a bunch of BS from the manager of the warehouse ... took me until Tuesday to get my camera ... I was so mad ... never again will I use FedEx ...

I wont order anything that's shipping Fedex. Those morons came to my house and didnt leave a door tag. I checked online to see if it had shipped and noticed they had came to my house. I called them up and asked if I could just come pick it up because I work during the day like most people. They told me NO.

So they came back the next 3 days while i was at work and never left a door tag any of the times. So I called them up and said WTF is my package? They said they werent sure and that it was on a truck somewhere. I said how can I pick it up when I dont even know where it is. I said i never got a door tag so if it wasnt for the internet I wouldnt even know that A) the driver came and B) that I would have to come pick it up. So finally they said it was 30 miles from my house. So I go there and and they said my package was in the back of the truck and for me to come back the next day. I was pissed, I flipped out and made a scene. I got my package in an hour. SCREW FEDEX, GOOOO UPS!
