Not only did the film and aritictic world lose Ingmar Bergman last Thursday, but it also lost Michelangelo Antonioni. He was another filmaker who was a true artist, who believed the audience was intelligent enough to view art on the screen and enjoy it.
This is of even greater interest to photographers through his wonderful film Blowup. The main character is basically David Bailey, photo wunderkind of swinging London in the '60s. If you haven't seen it, do.
o, yes, and don't forget The Passenger, a wonderful, beautifully photographed film.
