I know this may have been addressed but I cannot for the life of me remember what this is called.

In Filters, "emboss"?

Ok tried that and it does do what I asked. so Let me refame. I want to apply a graphic to a object that is not flat and make it look like it is painted onto the surface following the contour of the object beneath. Any Ideas?

Doh. I know exactly what you are talking about, and I if I was on a comp with photoshop id give you the exact name.

Displacement Map maybe?
