Hey everyone,

My dad's a blacksmith, and he has me photograph his stuff. I have a lot of trouble getting pictures that look good of his Ironwork. Does anyone have any hints or tricks?

You probably need soft lighting from all sides since you're trying to photograph black, and you probably want to avoid deep shadows.

How big are the items, and are you trying for "product" shots to sell it or "artistic" shots?

Can we see some examples of the problematic shots?
