In the time I have been here...the "People" at DPC has changed, they leave... come back..or they stay in the background...years ago Gordon was the Bomb when it came to Photography.... and John Setzler...He was an ultimate with knowledge to share...lol.. so yes...they do leave... they come back or they just sit and watch...

YES! I need to coax Connie to come back, her photos are awesome, I seen some from her trip to florida, just recently, they were unbelievable, and besides it would be fun to compete against my sister!!!! Please Connie, come back!!!!

Never played and have no interest in the sport. Although it is the only sport you can get in a fight and only be penalized a few mintues and be right back in the game.

Hmmmmm... ever take the time to watch baseball. In that sport you have bench clearing brawls, something which hasn't happened in the NHL in years. Fights have been known to break out in lacrosse, but I don't imagine you know much about that sport either.

I'm starting to feel love in this thread, and that is what the world needs now:)

btw, Hockey bench clearing brawls are the absolute BEST! There is nothing better than watching two goalies wail on each other!

I think soccer rules should apply to hockey. First offence, yellow card, 5 minute major. Second offence, ejection with no substitution. Let's see how the game goes one on one with only the goalies present.

On topic: people leave for different reasons. Some come back, some don't. It's nothing the rest of us have control over.

Why? then hockey would be just as boring to watch as soccer.

... and soccer players don't start to dance and beat the crap out of each other

Sure, they flop and dive, but they're just making fools of themselves and the clock doesn't stop for that idiocy.

Mind you, there's no point to either behaviour.

However the commercials in hockey are much more exciting than the actual play in soccer. :)

haha good one.

Hockey is not bad, but i think you cant compare a sport that has 4 billion followers to a game as popular as badminton and ping pong

I think DPC is doing a good job. Life just throws each of us a curve from time to time and we have to step back and prioritize or lives (on-line and off-line).

I enjoy DPC but I have time that I get upset, board, mad, depressed, etc. but in recent weeks the community has expressed that they don't want to hear about issues other than photography. Enough of the community to at least have DPC to add a special place for that. So I, at the moment, feel that the community is becoming distant.

Was just calling it soccer so as our North American friends do not confuse it with that game with the melon shaped ball

I guess you truly don't watch much hockey if you believe that... then again, they could run a 30 minutes ad during a soccer game and you truly would not have missed any action... except all the diving and acting and carrying on of the supposedly injured players.

You aint seen nothing til you've seen a bench clearing brawl in a curling match!

And fwiw, I think people leave DPC to go to the bathroom. ...at least those members who haven't setup a rig like I got.
