14k should not be near the life of your shutter. 'Should' being the operative term. |

Oh, ok! Thanks for looking that up. I've been running around all day and haven't had a chance. That helps ease my mind a little. I'm only a little over the 25% mark. I guess you can read a thousand forum threads or hear people say "You HAVE to have backup equipment!" a thousand times, but until your stomach hits the floor like mine did, you just don't realize that these words have a lot of truth to them.

And when one gets sick and has to go to the doctor, you find you need a third one...a 40D is on my list, now if they'd just release the darned thing!

I had this happen so many times (ie: as many as 5x in an hr). I had sent my 20D and/or 70-200mm f/2.8 IS back five times. When they finally replaced my whole setup.
No problems since. The replacement had a small fiber under the LCD plate cover. But I'll take that and a working camera any day. |
