I dropped my Nikon Nikon S10 - not too many owners but it (was) a nice point-and-shoot.

Some facts:
Bought it at Costco about a month ago,
the lens is all internal,
Cost about 220 + tax/ship,
I took many screws out to see if I could find something I could fix (dumass?),
Not much luck :(

Is this just a matter of taking it to the local camera shop and asking or are there other options?

Dropping = not good for camera. This is good to know.

What's not working? Is the lens shattered? Is it just not responding - electronically, I mean? If the latter is the case, I would try returning it. My wild guess would be that a repair might be more expensive than the camera. But I'm not expert. :o)

The body has aesthetic damage.
the camera comes up with an error regarding "lens error" and the internal lens makes some noise. The glass appears to be fine. There is a small chance that COstco would take the return - they are good about that so perhaps I'll try.

I think Coscto would take a return. I believe it is no questions asked so it would be worth a try.

Yup, return it to Costco.
My daughter's friend worked there, and they'd have people buy the expensive summer toys (pedal boats, swim rafts, etc) use and abuse them for the summer, then return for refund in the fall. They'd get it, no questions asked!
