Hi all
I've just bought myself a shiny new 350D with a soon-to-be-replaced kit lens. I'm sure I must be missing something basic but I can't find the answer anywhere - in the automatic modes the AF works fine and locks with the red dots but when I put it into any of the creative modes (i.e. P, Av, Tv, M) the camera makes no attempt to focus and it has to be done using the AE-lock button.
The AF mode is in one shot (though changing this doesn't make the slightest bit of difference), AF mode is selected on the lens and I've selected different AF points but to no avail.
Help would be really appreciated, I want to get out while the weather's good and take some shots, but not in Automatic mode!!

| Check Custom Function 4. If it is set to option 1, the camera should behave as you described. |
