Just got a D200. Very nice too. Unfortunately it's a Japanese import so that the manual and software are not tuned to my comprehension. The camera speaks English and I've downloaded Ken Rockwell's user's guide.
I'd be only too happy to hear of other and/or better guides or of ways and means to get hold of the English language manual. Likewise the software, especially whatever enables Photoshop to read the NEF RAW files.
All my fault for being a cheapskate, but if I'd gone to a shop and paid more I'd have got it all in Norwegian (of which, admittedly, I do have some understanding). So I'm licking my wounds, however self-inflicted. |

While im still around (at work). Ill help you a little.
Photoshop has its own raw converter called Adobe Camera Raw. CS2(9) newest is 3.7 which supports the D200 and CS3 uses 4.0/4.1. Not sure what photoshop you have but just update the latest ACR that your version can use.

go here: //tinyurl.com/2gewnf
and you can download the manual. (but without a USA serial you cannot print it...but can view it)
cheers,
Ernie (have fun with the camera...I just bought my D200 a couple of weeks ago) |

You've done me proud, thanks. I actually had to get a new CS2 (upgrading 7.0), so now it's a brand new camera and a brave new world. Wish me luck on the precipitous learning curve :)
I see you're not ready to list your D200 as default #1 camera - I'll have to check in on progress - enjoy. |
